MWeb™ Enterprise Pricing and Ordering

Pricing

The basic pricing model consists of a Startup Fee for analysis of your data and customization of the interface, plus an Annual Fee for the license, maintenance, upgrades, and support. See our Pricing Worksheet to estimate your 5-year costs.

MWeb is priced on the number of Primary Records in your database; we feel this best reflects the level of effort required to develop and support the product. Primary Records are those that represent the materials collected, such as museum objects, library materials, archival materials, documents, and photographs. Secondary Records related to the Primary Records, such as records for images, media, and vocabulary terms, are not billable.

Developing forms for user feedback is billed at the hourly rate. Since forms are automated using another Systems Planning product, InFORMer™, incorporating a form usually takes only a few hours. The InFORMer license is free for MWeb Enterprise sites.

Notes

1. Primary Records represent the objects, library records, archival records, photographs, and documents that you collect; Secondary Records related to the Primary Records, such as records for images, media, and vocabulary terms, are not billable.

2. If you use PastPerfect Museum Software as your collections management system, and wish to use MWeb Enterprise in order to have a customized layout, without any changes to the database, the Startup Fee is one-half what it normally would be. This discount applies to new clients as well as those upgrading from PastPerfect-Online. You must, however, purchase the PastPerfect-Online upgrade from PastPerfect (a one-time $248 or $199 purchase). The normal MWeb Enterprise Annual Fee applies. (If you are upgrading, we regret we cannot discount for payments made to PastPerfect Software, Inc.)

3. Because we must make a substantial investment of time to deliver your initial implementation, we request a prepayment of $1,000.00 (U.S. dollars) before we analyze your data and prepare the initial load; this prepayment is applied to the cost of your initial load and configuration.

4. For consortia, there may be an adjustment depending on the variation in the systems and data models used by the partners.

5. Payable annually in advance, including the first year, based on the number of Primary Records at the start of the period. The annual fee includes routine minor changes such as adding/dropping fields, changing display order of fields, changing display names of fields, minor textual changes, etc.

6. (Optional) Add 20% to the annual support cost for each language other than English.

7. Upgrades are delivered as follows: If you request a Special Feature, change your data model, or require other changes, they are delivered with all upgrades to date. Otherwise you may request an upgrade once a year, at which time we test every change to MWeb and PPS with your configuration.

8. Although MWeb is not open-source, you do NOT need to purchase a license for MySQL, since we do not distribute MySQL.

9. Development of Special Features to your specification is performed on a fee basis. However, features that would be useful to other MWeb customers may be developed free or at reduced cost. We are happy to prepare written estimates from your written requirements at no cost or obligation. However, we do charge if we must spend significant time to help plan or clarify requirements.
