About MWeb™

MWeb, developed by Systems Planning, is software for online catalogs of data, images, and media, with searching optimized for complex cultural data. Typical applications are museum catalogs, library catalogs, image collections, and art collections. Multiple catalogs and databases can be searched simultaneously with MWeb Enterprise and MWeb Universal.

Four versions of MWeb solve a wide range of problems:

• MWeb Enterprise is the easiest way to integrate searching and display of any number of databases or catalogs, with the highest level of integration and customizability. Any number of databases can be searched simultaneously. Databases can be of any type, including all standard database systems, collections systems, and library catalogs. The interface can be made to match your existing website. MWeb Enterprise provides integrated/federated searching of multiple databases by creating its own high-performance read-only database.
• MWeb Universal integrates searching and display of any number of databases or catalogs, on any number of servers, without exporting or FTPing. Databases can be of any type, including all standard database systems, collections systems, and library catalogs. Perfect for consortia or for searching museum and library catalogs together -- without Z39.50. MWeb Universal provides integrated/federated searching of multiple databases by sending requests to the live databases on each server.
• PastPerfect-Online, powered by MWeb provides an online catalog for sites using the PastPerfect collections-management system.
• PastPerfect Web Share is a self-hosted online catalog for sites using the PastPerfect collections-management system.
